Student Learning Support

Welcome to the SF State Student Learning Resources Project!

Based on research and dialogue with faculty, the Center has created student tutorials for skills faculty expected of their students, yet did not have time to teach. Faculty can use these online tutorials as a supplement to learning to help prepare students for success in the classroom.

The tutorials are presented in the original, interactive Flash format along with accessible PDF versions.

Certificate of Completion

If you are a student and your professor has assigned one of these tutorials for completion, please note that the Certificate of Completion can only be accessed through the accessible PDF versions. You are free to use the original Flash based version but please be aware that the certificate can only be printed out using the accessible PDF versions.

How to Assign and Teach with the Tutorials

To integrate these tutorials with your class, simply inform your students about which tutorial you wish them to complete. You can use this URL for quick access:

If you will be requiring your students to print out the Certificate of Completion for any of these tutorials, please be aware that the certificates are only available through the accessible PDF versions of these tutorials. This is due to a change from the original non-accessible Flash versions to the accessible PDF versions.

About These Tutorials

The Learning Support Resource team of the Center for Teaching and Faculty Development at San Francisco State University developed these tutorials. This team consists of five people - faculty, instructional designer, subject matter expert, a proofreader, and a programmer who began working on this project during Spring 2004. Additional technical, design and content support was provided by staff specialists at the Center for the Enhancement of Teaching.

In November 2006, the tutorials were converted from their original Adobe Flash versions to be fully integrated into the site. The certificates were removed and replaced with the online quiz capabilities of iLearn.

In September 2007, the Flash tutorials were restored after popular demand. The web-based versions were originally removed since they were not fully accessible. Fully accessible PDF versions of the tutorials were added for each module in November 2007.
