Faculty Associates

Every semester, the Center for Teaching and Faculty Development invites applications from tenured faculty for Faculty Associate positions.

Each position brings .20 assigned time to work on a project related to teaching and scholarship, in particular:

  • Universal Design for Learning
  • The scholarship of teaching and learning
  • The design of writing assignments, especially for second language learners
  • Modeling and teaching equity and social justice
  • Modeling and teaching diversity, including international diversity
  • The pedagogy of the large classroom
  • Pedagogical applications of technology
  • (and others, as the faculty propose)

The Associate spends the equivalent of one day a week in the CTFD offices throughout the semester, engaged in research related to her proposed project, working with the Center Instructional Designers, and consulting with other faculty.

Responsibilities : Each Faculty Associate will be expected to spend during the Fall 2008 semester the equivalent of one day each week in the CTFD offices, doing research related to the approved topic, working with CTFD instructional designers, consulting with faculty, working with technology options, and in general pursuing the interests outlined in the faculty member’s proposal.
